Privacy Policy

CarBinder is built to keep your vehicle records private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
1. Who we are
CarBinder (the “App”) is provided by GALAXYWAY AI LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15966090), with its registered office at 18 Holly Hill Road, Belvedere, Kent DA8 1QD, United Kingdom.
For any privacy question or request, you can reach us at info@galaxyway.ai. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy.
2. The short version
- CarBinder has no user accounts and no sign-up.
- Your vehicle records are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us or to any cloud service.
- We do not collect, receive, sell, rent, or have access to your vehicle data.
- CarBinder contains no advertising and no tracking analytics, and makes no hidden network calls with your records.
- Data only leaves your device when you choose to export, back up, or share it.
- The only routine network call is to validate an optional CarBinder Pro purchase. It is anonymous and carries no vehicle data (see section 6).
3. Data stored on your device
To do its job, CarBinder stores the information you enter in a private database on your device. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
- Vehicle details — such as make, model, year, nickname, colour, mileage, VIN, licence plate, and purchase or sale dates.
- Service and maintenance logs — categories, dates, mileage, costs, shop names, and notes.
- Reminders, recurring tasks, and your reminder preferences.
- Vehicle specifications — such as tyre sizes, oil type, and battery dates.
- Receipt and document images you choose to attach, stored as files in the App’s local storage.
- App settings, such as default distance unit and currency.
This information stays on your device. We have no server that receives or stores it, which means we cannot see it, access it, or recover it for you.
4. Device permissions
CarBinder requests certain device permissions only when a feature you activate needs them. Data accessed through these permissions stays on your device unless you export or share it.
- Camera — used only when you choose to photograph a receipt or document.
- Photos — used only when you choose an existing image to attach.
- Notifications — requested only when you create a reminder, so the App can alert you on your device. Reminders also appear inside the App if you decline.
You can review or change these permissions at any time in your device’s settings.
5. Exports, backups, and sharing
CarBinder lets you export your data (for example as CSV or JSON), back it up, and generate resale reports. These actions are always initiated by you. When you export or share, the resulting file leaves the App and travels wherever you send it — for example to another app, a cloud drive, a messaging app, or a buyer. Once data leaves CarBinder, this policy no longer applies to it, and you are responsible for how it is handled. Resale reports keep sensitive fields such as VIN, plate, notes, and receipt images switched off by default.
6. Purchases and CarBinder Pro
CarBinder is free to use, with an optional paid upgrade, CarBinder Pro, that unlocks power features such as unlimited vehicles, PDF resale reports, advanced insights, and OCR receipt scanning. Purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms — we never see or store your payment details.
To unlock and restore Pro across reinstalls and devices, the App uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to validate your store receipt. This is the one routine network request CarBinder makes. It sends only the information needed to verify a purchase — the store receipt or transaction token, basic device and app version details, and an anonymous, randomly generated identifier RevenueCat uses to remember your entitlement.
- It does not require or create an account, and is not linked to your name or email.
- No vehicle data — no vehicles, service logs, receipts, costs, mileage, VIN, or plate — is ever sent to RevenueCat or to us.
- If you never start a purchase, this validation still runs only to confirm you have no active Pro entitlement; it carries no personal details about you.
RevenueCat acts as our service provider and processes this limited data on our behalf. You can review their practices in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Your vehicle records remain on your device throughout.
7. The CarBinder website
This website (carbinder.galaxyway.ai) is an informational marketing site. It does not ask you to create an account or submit vehicle data. Our hosting provider may process standard technical information — such as IP address and basic request logs — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking on this site. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
8. App stores
CarBinder is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. When you download or update the App, those stores process information under their own privacy policies — for example, download counts and, if you opt in, crash diagnostics. We do not control and are not responsible for the data practices of Apple or Google. Please review Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies.
9. Children
CarBinder is a general-audience utility intended for vehicle owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App stores data only on the device and we operate no servers, we receive no personal data from any user, including children.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR — including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data. Because your vehicle records live only on your device, you already control them directly: you can edit or delete any record, and removing the App deletes its local data. For the limited personal data we do hold (for example, an email you send to support), you can contact us at info@galaxyway.ai to exercise your rights. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
11. Data retention and security
Your records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App. We protect any support correspondence for as long as needed to respond to and document your request, and to meet legal obligations.
Because your data is stored locally, its security depends primarily on your device. We recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometrics, and enabling CarBinder’s optional PIN lock. Please note: if you enable the PIN lock, there is no account or server recovery — keep your PIN somewhere safe. Likewise, if you lose your device without a backup, your records cannot be recovered by us.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version here. Material changes will be made clear. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
